She asked the right questions, and listened beyond the stated answers, really helping us define what we were looking for, quickly zeroed in on what we wanted, even before we did. Using the email viewer, she sent us several options as a starting point for us to choose a few to see. During a visit, we toured several condos, impressed by her familiarity and knowledge of the city and its neighborhoods. Selecting a unit is only one part of the process. The actual purchase, especially conducting business a long distance, can be a challenge. Here, too, Susan's assistance and guidance was invaluable, arranging for inspections, checking on the property and its progress, and being present when we were unable to be. “In 2015 my husband accepted a position at the University of Michigan. We were referred to Susan Schmunk to help us find a suitable home for our family of five. We have an excellent house hunting experience. We lived in Minnesota. Prior to our first visit to Ann Arbor Susan was so generous with her time, working with us over the phone to understand out family and how our needs shaped our preferences in the search for a new home., , When we arrived in Ann Arbor for our first house hunting excursion we were amazing to find a welcome basket waiting for us when we arrived at our hotel. It set such a nice tone, assuring us that were coming into a welcoming environment. More importantly, Susan had prepared a notebook of properties and had scheduled many visits that the first day of viewing. She picked us up at our hotel and we toured houses in several towns on that day and the next. Our principal criteria were that a house have a bedroom and full bath on the first floor and that we be located in a town with a good school system., , During our travels Susan was cheerful and patient. She was responsive to our questions. We was a good variety of homes and learned a great deal about the area and its towns. We made two subsequent visits to the area before finding a house that matched our needs. Between our visits to Michigan occasionally we would find a house online that looked appealing. Susan would always check out the house and gather additional information in response to our requests. She was willing to look into houses that interested us and set up viewings at our request even when she didn't think it met our needs., , It was after we made an offer on a house that Susan went above and beyond the call of duty. There was another offer already on the house. Susan wrote a letter to the seller to her about our family situation and why this house was so important to us. Our adult son is disabled and uses a wheelchair. We needed a house with a bedroom and full bath on the first floor and there were so few on the market that would accommodate his needs. We learned much late that because of a glitch in the timing of a counter offer, the owner decided to accept out offer based on Susan's letter., , I have since become friends with the first owner who told me the story. Susan had not said a word when we closed on the property. That really shows a lot of class. , , ”
